Here are some news items from Fudoshin Judo as we shift into our summer semester. 1. Last kid’s class was tonight, June 12. Kid’s classes will resume in September. Many thanks to coaches Eileen Parsons and Ed Quinn for leading these classes over the past year! 2. Summer semester classes will continue for teen and adult classes on the current schedule. Teen members may join the adult class over the summer if they wish. 3. Congratulations to Jack Hudson, Emma Mullett and Leonardo Gomez who fought well at the Canadian Open National Championships in Edmonton in May. Coach Maurice Sheppard accompanied them. Jack Hudson won a bronze medal in his class. Pictures are available on the club Facebook site https://www.facebook.com/groups/180813335266388 4. Good luck to Jack Hudson who will be competing in the Canada Cup international tournament in Montreal in June and Leonardo Gomez who will be attending the National Judo School in Montreal as well. 5. There will be a Good bye to Jaeyong Lee and club planning social on Monday, June 17 at 7:45 PM at the Guv’ Nors Pub on Elizabeth Avenue. Parents and adult members of the club are invited to join us. 6. For all club members who have reached brown belt level they should review the Judo Canada grading syllabus for information about the requirements to be graded to Shodan (1st degree black belt).
